Shipping policy

Cluck & Coop ships backyard chicken coops and related products across the 48 contiguous United States. This policy outlines our shipping coverage, timelines, costs, and procedures. For information regarding returns and refunds, please refer to our Return & Refund Policy, which governs those terms.


1. Shipping Coverage

We currently ship exclusively within the 48 contiguous United States.

We do not ship to:

  • Alaska or Hawaii
  • U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands)
  • APO, FPO, or DPO military addresses
  • Post office boxes for freight shipments
  • International destinations

Orders placed for unsupported locations will be canceled and fully refunded.


2. Order Processing & Tracking

  • Order Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation shortly after placing your order.
  • Processing Time: Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation.
  • Shipping Notification: Once shipped, you will receive tracking details or carrier contact information for delivery scheduling.
  • Freight Scheduling: For freight shipments, the carrier will contact you directly to arrange delivery. Prompt response is required to avoid storage or redelivery fees.

3. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs depend on product type, size, and delivery location.

  • Stocked products (e.g., Formex SnapLock coops): Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout.
  • Custom-built products (e.g., Hen House Collection coops): A final freight quote is provided before the order is charged. If requested in advance, quotes are typically provided within 1 business day.

4. Product-Specific Shipping Terms

Custom-Built Coops (Hen House Collection)

  • Production & Delivery: Each coop is custom-built by our U.S.-based manufacturing partner. Delivery typically takes 4–6 weeks from the order date, depending on demand, weather, and logistics.
  • Shipping Method: Private LTL freight
  • Delivery Type: Curbside delivery only
  • Customer Responsibility:
    • Ensure the delivery location is accessible to large freight trucks
    • Arrange assistance for moving the coop to its final placement
  • Inspection Upon Delivery:
    • Inspect the coop before signing the delivery receipt
    • Note any visible damage on the receipt
    • Take photos and report issues within 24 hours to info@cluckandcoop.com
  • Returns: Custom-built coops are non-returnable except in cases of non-delivery or irreparable damage.

Stocked Coops (Formex SnapLock)

  • Delivery Time: Typically 5–10 business days from the order date
  • Shipping Method: Standard ground carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx)
  • Delivery Type: Doorstep delivery
  • Assembly: Ships unassembled; instructions are included
  • Inspection: Report damage or defects within 48 hours of delivery with photos
  • Returns: Accepted within 30 days if unused and in original packaging. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective or incorrect.

5. Risk of Loss & Carrier Liability

Ownership and risk transfer to the customer upon successful delivery. Until delivery is completed, we and our carriers assume responsibility.

If damage occurs during transit, we will coordinate with the carrier and supplier to arrange repair or replacement, subject to the reporting timeframes outlined above.


6. Lost or Missing Deliveries

If tracking shows “delivered” but the item has not been received:

  1. Check with household members and neighbors
  2. Inspect the delivery location thoroughly
  3. Allow up to 24 hours for potential carrier delays
  4. Contact us within 7 days at info@cluckandcoop.com to initiate an investigation

Claims submitted after this period may be limited by carrier policies.


7. Address Accuracy & Changes

Please ensure your shipping address is accurate at checkout.

  • Before shipment: Contact us immediately for updates
  • After shipment (ground): Address changes may be possible, with applicable carrier fees
  • After shipment (freight): Changes are typically not possible

Orders returned due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses may be:

  • Reshipped at the customer’s expense, or
  • Refunded minus shipping and carrier fees

8. Order Changes & Cancellations

  • Orders may be canceled within 24 hours for a full refund
  • After 24 hours, cancellation may not be possible if production or shipping has begun

9. Missed Deliveries & Refusals

  • Missed freight appointments or refused deliveries (not due to damage) may result in:
    • Storage fees
    • Redelivery fees
    • Return freight charges

These costs are the customer’s responsibility and will be deducted from any applicable refund.
