Chicken Coop in Pleasant Grove, Utah
Matt and his family raise chickens in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Matt had a pretty good idea of what he wanted when he started his search for a new coop. Continue reading to see what his requirements were—and how The Cluck & Coop Collection met those.
Matt’s Coop Requirements
Functionality
The functionality of the coop was a big factor for Matt. It was important that no extra extension cords be needed, even with the electrical features built into the coop. In his seasonal environment, a climate‐controlled coop was a must. He also wanted his kids to be able to operate the doors and latch easily.
Appearance
Matt did not want an unattractive coop in his beautifully maintained backyard. He and his wife desired a traditional, well‑kept look while providing the chickens with everything they needed.
Ease of Maintenance
Maintenance was key. Matt wanted a coop that was easy to keep clean and as automated as possible.
Q & A with Matt
Tell me about your first interaction with The Cluck & Coop Collection...
“I searched for a few months and could not find a chicken coop that would meet all of my requirements. I first came across The Cluck & Coop Collection because of the beautiful coop pictures that gave you the farmhouse look with high‑quality features that would last.”
What features and options did you add?
“I got it wired for electricity so I could run my auto coop door (more to come on that awesome feature later), heat lamps, roost warmers, and even my wireless HD chicken cam—all from inside the coop. The ceiling was insulated to help keep the chickens warm in the bitter cold. It has a wire-covered window and a ventilation opening so my chickens can enjoy the cool summer nights while remaining secure.”
“The nest boxes have safety latches, so my children don’t slam their fingers when collecting eggs. The side door is large enough for easy access and even locks with a key.”
